All-Pro right guard Brandon Scherff has signed the franchise tender from the Washington Football Team, reports Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
By agreeing to the franchise tag, Scherff locks in his $18-million contract for the 2021 season. He's now set to play his second consecutive campaign under the franchise tag.
The two sides still get until July 15 to work out a long-term contract.
Scherff only allowed one sack and was called for one penalty over 13 games this past season. He's been a Pro Bowler four times over six campaigns.
