Chicago Bears defensive tackle Mario Edwards has been suspended for the first two games of the 2021 season, the league announced.
The suspension stems from a violation of the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
A former second-round pick of the then-Oakland Raiders, the 26-year-old signed a one-year, $910,000 deal with the Bears in September. He racked up 17 tackles and a career-high four sacks in his first season in Chicago.
Edwards is scheduled to become a free agent in March.
