Texans interview Jim Caldwell for head coaching vacancy

The Houston Texans interviewed Jim Caldwell for their head coaching vacancy on Monday.

Caldwell previously served as coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 2009-11 and the Detroit Lions from 2014-17. He owns a career record of 62-50.

Caldwell also served as an assistant head coach with the Colts under Tony Dungy from 2002-08 before his promotion to the head job.

The 65-year-old's last job in the NFL was with the Miami Dolphins in 2019 as an assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach.

The Texans fired Bill O'Brien after an 0-4 start to the season. Assistant Romeo Crennel has taken over in the interim.

Houston is also conducting a search for a new general manager.
