Report: Fitzgerald tests positive for COVID-19, won't play vs. Patriots
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald tested positive for COVID-19, sources told Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The 11-time Pro Bowler will reportedly miss Sunday's game against the New England Patriots as a result.
With Fitzgerald sidelined, Andy Isabella will likely be given an expanded role behind DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk.
The 37-year-old Fitzgerald's role in the Cardinals' offense has diminished in his 17th NFL season. He is averaging a career-low 7.8 yards per reception, has yet to catch a touchdown pass, and is on pace for his lowest-ever receiving yards total.
The 6-4 Cardinals will look to close the gap on the 7-3 Seattle Seahawks and 7-3 Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West on Sunday against New England.
