Brady disappointed in play: 'I have to do a better job, absolutely'

Tom Brady's play has come into question after another ugly prime-time performance, the latest a two-interception outing in a 27-24 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback went 26 of 48 for 216 yards and completed just one pass of more than 15 yards. He had the chance to play the hero late in the contest, but Rams safety Jordan Fuller intercepted Brady to seal the game after the quarterback badly overthrew tight end Cameron Brate.

Brady was asked postgame whether he was disappointed he wasn't able to lead a late-game comeback.

"I think that's a good word, disappointed. I have to do a better job, absolutely," Brady said.

He was even more critical of his last throw of the night.

"Just a bad read," Brady said. "Cam was running up the seam and at the last second, I saw the safety coming over and just popped it over Cam's head. Just a bad read, bad throw, decision, everything. Can't happen."

Brady's performance Monday follows a three-interception outing against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football in Week 9.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians couldn't explain why the team's offense has struggled against top competition this season.

"Still trying to figure that out," Arians said. "At times we look really, really good, and then there are times when we obviously don't. I felt very, very comfortable in the two-minute drive until that throw."

Brady has thrown 25 touchdown passes and nine interceptions on the season, including five of each over the last three games. The 7-4 Bucs host the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12.
