Seattle Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen ruptured his plantar fascia Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals and will be sidelined for roughly two months, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said following the win that he didn't know whether Olsen would be able to return this season, and Rapoport confirms it would likely take a deep playoff run in order for the veteran to do so.

The 35-year-old went down in obvious pain with the noncontact injury early in the fourth quarter. He was unable to put weight on the foot and had to be helped off the field.

Olsen, a three-time Pro Bowler, signed a one-year deal with Seattle in February after spending the last nine campaigns as a member of the Carolina Panthers. He spent his first four with the Chicago Bears.

The 14-year pro considered retirement in favor of a broadcasting career before joining the Seahawks. Both ESPN and Fox reportedly tried to lure Olsen into joining their crews in 2019.
