Las Vegas Raiders offensive tackle Trent Brown was hospitalized Sunday after a mishap with a pregame IV caused air to enter his bloodstream, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

Brown will reportedly stay at the hospital overnight for additional tests.

The 27-year-old was expected to return to the lineup Sunday against the Cleveland Browns after missing five games with a calf injury and then a positive COVID-19 test.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr said Brown was wheeled out of the locker room, and that the team "was scared for Trent," according to The Athletic's Vic Tafur.

"We're just going to say he got ill here in the locker room," head coach Jon Gruden said after the Raiders defeated the Browns. "I'm told that everything is OK."

Brown is in his second season with the Raiders. He signed a four-year, $66-million contract in 2019 after playing one campaign for the New England Patriots and three for the San Francisco 49ers.
