The New England Patriots placed wide receiver Julian Edelman on the injured reserve following his knee surgery, the team announced Saturday.
While head coach Bill Belichick believes Edelman is likely to return this season, the wideout will be forced to miss at least three weeks on the IR.
Edelman, 34, has been limited all campaign due to knee issues. However, he still leads New England with 21 receptions for 315 yards.
With N'Keal Harry also likely to be sidelined due to a concussion, Damiere Byrd, Jakobi Meyers, and Gunner Olszewski are set to lead New England's pass-catchers for Sunday's pivotal AFC East clash with the Buffalo Bills.
