Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was one of over 100,000 residents evacuated from their Southern California homes due to wildfires, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Several others with the Chargers, including players and staff members, were also evacuated and settled in hotels. The Chargers continue to prepare for their Week 8 contest with the Broncos in Denver.

California is prone to wildfires in the fall, and five of the 20 largest wildfires in the state's history have occurred in 2020, according to Cal Fire.

After wildfires spread across Southern California in 2017, the Los Angeles Rams gave Monday Night Football tickets to thousands of first responders and families who were recovering from the disaster as well as the mass shooting in Thousand Oaks.
