New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton and cornerback Stephon Gilmore were back at practice Thursday after being reinstated from the COVID-19 reserve.

Newton missed the Patriots' Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs after testing positive ahead of the contest. Gilmore didn't miss a game, as his positive test came after New England played the Chiefs.

Newton was off to a hot start in his first year with the Patriots, completing a career-high 68.1% of his passes and totaling six touchdowns against two turnovers through three contests.

Gilmore, the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year, has posted 11 tackles, two pass breakups, and one interception over four outings.

The Patriots take a 2-2 record into their Week 6 encounter with the Denver Broncos.
