The New England Patriots placed running back Sony Michel on the injured reserve with a quad issue and activated tailback Damien Harris on Monday, the team announced.
Michel will be sidelined a minimum of three weeks, but he could be reinstated shortly thereafter, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 25-year-old was coming off his most productive game of the season after racking up 117 yards on nine carries in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He had recorded only 56 yards on 17 rushes over New England's first two contests.
Harris, a third-round pick in 2019, will get a chance to suit up against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night after beginning the campaign on the injured list. The 23-year-old appeared in two games as a rookie, rushing four times for 12 yards.
