New Orleans Saints receiver Michael Thomas has already been ruled out for Week 3 due to a high ankle sprain but is targeting a Week 4 return against the Detroit Lions, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Though Thomas was listed as out on the Saints' injury report, he was "moving really well" at Friday's workout, a league source told Schefter. Despite the optimistic view from the workout, Thomas hasn't practiced since picking up the injury in Week 1.
Thomas was sidelined for the Saints' Week 2 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and he'll miss Sunday's prime-time date with the Green Bay Packers.
The Saints are 0-2 all time in games Thomas is sidelined.
