The San Francisco 49ers are finalizing a deal with free-agent defensive end Ezekiel Ansah, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

The Niners have lost edge rusher Nick Bosa to a torn ACL in Week 2, while defensive tackle Solomon Thomas could also miss time after suffering a knee injury in the same game.

Ansah is coming off an uneventful one-year stint with the Seattle Seahawks, tallying just 2.5 sacks over 11 games. He spent the early portion of the 2019 campaign recovering from shoulder surgery.

In his six seasons with the Detroit Lions between 2013-18, Ansah racked up 48 sacks and made one Pro Bowl. The 31-year-old had a career-high 14.5 sacks in 2015 and reached double digits again in 2017 when he posted 12.

The 49ers will take a 1-1 record into Week 3, where they'll meet the New York Giants. San Francisco is the only team in the NFC West with a loss on its record through two weeks.
