Continuing the trend of Big Ten players opting out of the 2020 season due to uncertainty over the coronavirus pandemic, Ohio State cornerback Shaun Wade announced he'll forgo his remaining eligibility and declare for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Wade is one of the top defensive back prospects in his class, and he's expected to be a first-round pick next April.

The defender joins All-American guard Wyatt Davis, who also left the Buckeyes. His decision comes just prior to the Big Ten's vote on returning to play in 2020, which is expected to take place this week.

Wade was solid in coverage across from 2020 third overall pick Jeff Okudah for Ohio State last season. He notched one interception, two sacks, and two forced fumbles in 11 games, earning a third-team All-Big Ten selection.

He'll likely compete with Virginia Tech's Caleb Farley and Alabama's Patrick Surtain II to be the first cornerback off the board.
