Cleveland Browns rookie safety Grant Delpit will undergo surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon and is expected to miss the 2020 season, the Browns announced Tuesday.
The former LSU star suffered the injury at practice on Monday during individual drills and was carted off the field.
The Browns selected Delpit with their second-round pick (No. 44 overall) in this year's draft.
The injury bug has hit the Browns in training camp over the past week. Linebacker Mack Wilson hyperextended his knee, running back Nick Chubb was placed in the concussion protocol following a hit from Wilson, and cornerback Kevin Johnson was hospitalized after lacerating his liver.
