Tampa Bay Buccaneers edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul will be sidelined three-to-four weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
The timeline means Pierre-Paul should be available for at least most of training camp, which is scheduled to open in late July. He opted for the procedure to address some discomfort.
Pierre-Paul is coming off a 2019 campaign in which he recorded 8.5 sacks in 10 games. He notched 12.5 sacks in a full season the year prior.
After a pair of productive seasons, Pierre-Paul re-signed with the Buccaneers in free agency on a two-year deal worth $27 million. The 31-year-old spent the first nine years of his career with the New York Giants.
