Report: Kaepernick still training every day in hopes of NFL comeback
Colin Kaepernick hasn't thrown an NFL pass since Jan. 1, 2017, but he remains undeterred in his quest to return to the league.
The 32-year-old still trains every day - both in the gym and on the field - in hopes of an NFL comeback, sources told TMZ Sports.
"He's in the best shape of his life," one source said.
Kaepernick and his supporters believe he was blackballed by the NFL after he began kneeling during the national anthem in 2016. He opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers at the close of that season - though it's believed the team would have released him had he not chosen to become a free agent. He hasn't been signed by another team since.
Commissioner Roger Goodell admitted Friday that the league was "wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier" and said it would "encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest."
