The Philadelphia Eagles will sign cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman to a one-year contract, he told ESPN's Josina Anderson.

Robey-Coleman played primarily in the slot for the Los Angeles Rams, with whom he spent the last three seasons. He became a free agent when the Rams declined the 2020 option on his contract.

The 28-year-old will join fellow newcomer Darius Slay in an Eagles secondary that has undergone renovations since the end of the 2019 campaign. Philadelphia struggled in the secondary last year due to injuries and poor performances.

Robey-Coleman had 36 tackles and seven pass breakups a year ago. He was involved in the infamous pass interference no-call in the 2019 NFC Championship Game between the Rams and New Orleans Saints. The NFL made pass interference a reviewable penalty in the ensuing offseason.
