Dez says he's healthy, would welcome reunion with Cowboys

Dez Bryant is determined to get back on the field in 2020 and wouldn't mind doing so with the Dallas Cowboys.

"I'm where I need to be (physically) right now," the free-agent wide receiver told Mike Fisher of CowboysSI.com. "I'm more serious than ever."

Bryant sat out the 2019 campaign while rehabbing from a torn Achilles, which he sustained at his first practice with the New Orleans Saints last season. The 31-year-old spent the first eight years of his career with the Cowboys and holds the franchise record for career touchdown receptions with 73.

Bryant endured a somewhat messy divorce with the Cowboys because of his disdain for head coach Jason Garrett. He said he wouldn't be limited to running short routes like a tight end for Dallas in 2020 "because Garrett is gone."

"I know I would respect my role - and make a huge impact," he added.

Bryant had 69 receptions for 838 yards and six touchdowns over 16 games for the Cowboys in 2017.
