Chicago Bears linebacker Khalil Mack embraced the giving spirit this holiday season by covering layaway tabs at a Walmart in his hometown.
The store in Fort Pierce, Florida, announced Friday on Facebook that Mack paid off all active layaway accounts through his Khalil Mack Foundation.
"His foundation came to us and said he wanted to be a secret Santa," store manager Mathias Libardi told Lamaur Stancil of TCPalm.com.
A Walmart spokesperson said Mack paid off 300-to-350 accounts - a total of around $80,000, according to Jeremy Mikula of the Chicago Tribune.
