Eagles' Jeffery, Johnson carted to locker room with injuries
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and right tackle Lane Johnson were carted to the locker room after suffering first-half injuries on Monday Night Football versus the New York Giants.
Jeffery was later ruled out with a foot injury, while Johnson was also declared out with an ankle injury.
Jeffery began hobbling immediately after starting a route in the second quarter. He wasn't touched by a defender, though it's unknown if he'd been playing through an injury he previously sustained.
Johnson was injured after Carson Wentz and a Giants defender fell into his leg.
Jeffery, who's been bothered by several ailments this season, entered Week 14 with 43 receptions for 490 yards and four touchdowns. His $9-million salary for 2020 was guaranteed by the Eagles earlier this year. The 29-year-old is one of several Eagles receivers to fall short of expectations in 2019.
