The Miami Dolphins named Ryan Fitzpatrick their starting quarterback for Week 7 versus the Buffalo Bills despite previously declaring Josh Rosen would get the nod, according to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe.

Rosen was benched for Fitzpatrick in Week 6 after struggling against the Washington Redskins. Fitzpatrick led the Dolphins on a pair of touchdown drives in the fourth quarter in relief. After the game, head coach Brian Flores said "Josh will continue to be the starter," but added that he wouldn't shy away from more midgame switches in the future.

Fitzpatrick won the starting job over Rosen in the preseason but was demoted to the second string after struggling out of the gate. His replacement, who Miami acquired at the 2019 draft for a second-round pick, didn't fare much better.

J. Rosen 5 567 53.2 1:5

The Dolphins are one of two NFL teams still looking for a win in 2019. Miami was expected to plummet in the standings after shedding a heap of veteran talent before the campaign.
