Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will undergo season-ending elbow surgery but he doesn't require Tommy John surgery, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Roethlisberger is expected to "be fine for next season," a source told Schefter, adding that "no one is concerned that next year is going to be a problem."

Big Ben left last week's game with an elbow injury and was ruled out for the year on Monday. The 16-year veteran fully intends to return from the injury and play out the remainder of his contract with the Steelers, which has two additional seasons.
