The New England Patriots are set to part ways with wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The veteran pass-catcher is still working back to full health after suffering a torn Achilles in December.

A quick return to New England is possible, as both the Patriots and Thomas are interested in a reunion, sources told Michael Giardi of NFL Network.

Thomas looked close to his old self, however, during the Patriots' final preseason game Thursday. He caught seven of his eight targets for 87 yards and two touchdowns in the loss to the New York Giants.

With Thomas gone, New England has Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, rookie N'Keal Harry, Phillip Dorsett, Jakobi Meyers, and Gunner Olszewski at wide receiver.
