New York Jets linebacker Avery Williamson suffered a torn ACL and will miss the 2019 season, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Williamson left Thursday's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons due to the injury.

The 27-year-old signed with the Jets last offseason after playing with the Tennessee Titans for four campaigns. He started all 16 games for New York in 2018, accumulating 120 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception.

Inside linebacker Neville Hewitt is a possible replacement to play alongside C.J. Mosley in Williamson's absence.
