Joe Horn Jr., the son of the former New Orleans Saints great, has signed a free-agent tryout with the Baltimore Ravens.

The elder Horn played for 13 seasons in the NFL and reached four Pro Bowls. The wideout's best seasons came in a seven-year run with the Saints, during which he eclipsed 1,300 yards receiving on three separate occasions.

Horn Jr. played at Division II Missouri Western last season. The Ravens signed him after he took part in their rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.

"His son looks like him - quick, fast, really good hands, in and out of breaks," head coach John Harbaugh said to Ravens staff writer Clifton Brown. "You can tell he's worked with his dad a lot on technique. I just thought he looked excellent."

There's no guarantee Horn Jr. will break camp with the Ravens, but he's made it a step closer to following his father into the NFL.
