A hearing for the soliciting prostitution charges against New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft took place Friday, during which his defense team asked to suppress the public release of videos involving Kraft at a day spa.
"It's basically pornography," attorney William Burck said to Judge Leonard Hasner, according to Shalise Manza Young of Yahoo Sports. "There's no interest in actually seeing the video unless you have a prurient interest in seeing the video."
Kraft was charged in February for paying money in exchange for sexual acts within the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter, Fla., which authorities alleged was tied to a human trafficking ring.
A number of media outlets have since requested the release of the videos in accordance with Florida's public records law. No ruling was made Friday.
Meanwhile, prosecutors in the case admitted Friday in court that nobody involved will be charged with human trafficking because there was no evidence found in the investigation, ESPN's Michele Steele reported.
To be clear: the prosecutors said they investigated claims of human trafficking because there was initially a basis for it, which necessitated the installation of the video cameras and other evidence gathering methods.
