The New Orleans Saints are reportedly close to a deal with Jared Cook, the top tight end on the free-agent market, a source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
It's been a surprisingly slow free agency for Cook, who is coming off a career year with the Oakland Raiders in which he hauled in 68 passes for a team-high 896 yards and six touchdowns.
The 31-year-old spent the last two seasons in Oakland. He previously suited up for the Tennessee Titans, St. Louis Rams, and Green Bay Packers.
New Orleans is looking for a tight end to replace the retired Benjamin Watson.
