The Oakland Raiders and tackle Donald Penn mutually agreed to part ways Saturday after five years together, the team announced.

Penn signed with the Raiders in 2014, re-signed in 2016, and inked a two-year extension in 2017. He played left tackle his first four years in Oakland but moved to the right side of the line to accommodate 2018 first-round draft pick Kolton Miller.

The decision appeared inevitable after the Raiders signed Trent Brown to a four-year, $66-million deal in free agency.

Penn, 35, announced on Twitter that he intends to continue his career and believes he's still a starting left tackle.
