Report: Gurley has arthritis in knee
Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley has arthritis in his knee, a source told Jeff Howe of The Athletic.
It's his left knee that's suffering from arthritis, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, meaning it's the same one which underwent an ACL repair during Gurley's final year at Georgia.
The running back averaged just 10.6 carries over his final five games of the season, including three playoff tilts. He received 19.4 carries over the first 12 games of the campaign. He missed two contests at the end of the regular season due to a knee injury, which is when Los Angeles signed C.J. Anderson.
Both Gurley and Rams head coach Sean McVay strongly denied there are any issues with the knee. McVay claimed the star rusher's lack of touches at the end of the season was due to game flow.
The Rams could also consider stem cell treatment for the All-Pro running back, according to CBS Sports' John Breech.
