Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Horn thoroughly enjoyed watching Michael Thomas recreate his famous cellphone celebration Sunday after his 72-yard touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams.

"When I saw him bring out that cellphone it brought a tear to my eye," Horn told Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com. "For him to pay homage to me in that way, let me know what kind of man Michael Thomas is."

Thomas planted a cell phone in each end zone before the game with the plan to whip one out after scoring a touchdown, much like Horn did during a game in 2003.

Horn said he immediately purchased a Thomas jersey after seeing the tribute.

"That's something that some kids don't do, to pay homage to an old soul," said Horn. "For him to do it on a national stage took a lot of courage. I'm humbled."

Horn is the Saints' third-leading receiver in franchise history. He played seven seasons for New Orleans and represented the Saints in four Pro Bowls.
