Tom Brady can hit yet another career milestone on Sunday when the New England Patriots host the Green Bay Packers, as the 41-year-old enters the meeting just three rushing yards shy of the 1,000-yard mark for his career.
He credits his longevity for getting him this far and says he's hoping to surpass the milestone in the marquee Week 9 matchup.
"I've kind of inched along there for a long time. It really hasn't been a part of my game. But I'm getting close. I've been at it for a long time. Hopefully we can get it this week. Hopefully we can get more than that," Brady said, according to NBC Sports Boston.
The future Hall of Famer has amassed 997 rushing yards over 261 games during his career, scoring 19 touchdowns on the ground, predominantly via goal-line QB sneaks. He's had three 100-yard rushing seasons.
Sunday's opponent, Aaron Rodgers, conceded the Greatest of All Time debate to Brady this week based on Brady's five championship victories. Rodgers, however, has been the superior rusher over his career, entering Sunday's meeting with 2,786 yards and 25 touchdowns over 156 games.
