Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll remains committed to his team following the death of owner Paul Allen, the man who hired him away from USC in 2010.

"Absolutely," Carroll said when asked if he wants to stay with the Seahawks, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.

Carroll reflected on the owner's influence and credited Allen's sense of commitment for his move away from the college game, where he'd had so much success.

"He wanted to win championships and that's what he was all about," Carroll said. "He wasn't going to let anything get in the way and he was really clear about that. The message that came through was really one that I hadn't heard in that fashion with that commitment and that spirit of it. That's what made it even possible to even be in the conversation about it."

The 67-year-old coach signed a three-year contract extension with the Seahawks in 2016, which is set to expire after next season.
