It seems New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas and Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman each had a little fire left to burn following the Saints' 43-19 win Monday night.

Norman had a forgettable game on the defensive side of the ball. He shared the blame for Drew Brees' record-breaking 62-yard touchdown pass to rookie receiver Tre'Quan Smith, and he didn't play 100 percent of the defensive snaps for the first time all season after being temporarily benched to start the second half.

Thomas took to Twitter after the game to take credit for Gruden's decision.

The back-and-forth exchange continued deep into the night. Though Norman has since deleted his tweets, they live on in screenshots captured by Twitter user @ShawnieceQB.

"You clout chasing (clown emoji)! (Twenty-five) times Lined it up toe-toe (blocking decoy) out-come (sic) of that 0-0-0!! Drew didn't even look yo damn way (trash can emoji) 'Juice' Waste of a tweet!" wrote Norman.

Thomas: "Zone Corner, play your role. Lol you don't have no clout to chase. I didn't have to do nothing but punk you all day and watch you bust coverages all game and cost your team so who really a clown(?) And I'm going to bully you ever(y) time I see you just so you know (happy face emoji)(yoga emoji)(peace emoji) #sis."

Norman: "25-0-0-0 (trash emoji)"

Thomas, via quote tweet: "And got you still crying to the media in your cheap ahh (sic) suit and in my mentions crying. You 30 yrs old dude (face palm emoji). Life comes at you fast."

Norman: "You right you did nothing but #Block."

Thomas: "You my son, go to bed son. I was punking you all night give me a break. @ your coach so he can put your so-called tough guy self in timeout again (sob emoji)(sob emoji)"

Thomas then seemed to take displeasure with Norman deleting his side of the conversation.

Thomas finished the game with four catches on five targets for 74 yards, though Smith totaled 111 yards and two touchdowns, and Cameron Meredith went for 71 yards on five catches.

Norman is Pro Football Focus' 59th-ranked cornerback on the season. He's allowed a pass rating of 156.3 when targeted in coverage this season.
