In desperate need of help at wide receiver, the Philadelphia Eagles announced Wednesday that they have signed Jordan Matthews.

Matthews reunites with the team that drafted him in the second round in 2014. He was traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2017, spending one season there before signing - and later being released - with the New England Patriots this offseason.

The veteran is a welcomed addition to an inexperienced and injury-depleted receiving corps in Philadelphia. Mike Wallace (broken fibula) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Second-year pass-catcher Mack Hollins is currently on IR as well, while top option Alshon Jeffery is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

Matthews dealt with nagging injuries last season in Buffalo, limiting him to just 25 catches and 282 yards in 10 games. He accumulated 225 receptions and 19 touchdowns in three campaigns with the Eagles.
