Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson wants the rest of his coaching staff to avoid criticizing players through the media.

Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams said on Sunday that rookie cornerback Denzel Ward's back spasms are the result of "stupid things," and specifically his tackling technique.

On Monday, Jackson told reporters he wants Williams to keep those matters internal.

"Gregg does not get to do just what he wants to do. We will work through all of that. ... We do not need to do all of that stuff in the media," Jackson said, via Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.

Williams was hired by the Browns in January 2017, and his defense ranked 31st while allowing 25.6 points per game last season.
