Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans donated $11,000 to the family of a man shot and killed by police in 2014, according to ESPN.

The family of the victim, Gregory Hill, unsuccessfully sued the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office in May, with the jury ruling in favor of the police department. Hill was shot after police responded to complaints about loud music. Police claimed he greeted them with a pointed gun.

Thanks to the sizable donation from Evans, Hill's family has raised nearly $100,000 via GoFundMe as of Sunday morning.

After signing an $82-million contract extension in March, Evans said he wanted to use his newfound wealth to "help a lot of people."
