The Los Angeles Chargers have yet to settle on a replacement for injured tight end Hunter Henry.

The expected starter for 2018 tore his ACL during OTAs and will miss the upcoming season. The team had planned to move on from franchise legend Antonio Gates, but the injury to Henry may have changed those plans.

But for all the talk of a reunion, Gates remains a free agent.

"There's no update right now," Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said on the "Petros and Money Show" on AM 570 Thursday, according to Eric D. Williams of ESPN. "We'll see where things go next week. We've got a couple different possibilities.

"We had talked about one obviously with Antonio Gates, and we'll see where that goes. We've got some time here next week, so we'll see what happens."

The Chargers' training camp opens Friday and seven-year vet Virgil Green currently sits atop the depth chart at tight end.

Gates, a veteran of 15 seasons, currently sits sixth in career touchdown receptions, 14 scores behind Marvin Harrison.
