Tennessee Titans president and CEO Steve Underwood says the team will speak to Jurrell Casey regarding how fines are handed out to anthem protesters during the 2018 season.

The star defensive lineman said Wednesday he'll continue to demonstrate during the national anthem and is fully prepared to accept any fines. Under the new rules, however, teams will be fined for protest infractions, not players.

"I think our head coach (Mike Vrabel) and general manager (Jon Robinson) are interested in having a conversation after he gets back from the United Kingdom," Underwood said Thursday, according to Joey Garrison of The Tennessean. "We think there may be some misunderstanding on his part. Because the new league policy does not provide anywhere that fines are made against players. If a player doesn't stand, the teams can be fined, but not the players."

The Titans can, however, set their own policies and fine their players as they see fit.

Casey was one of several NFLers who raised a fist during the anthem last season to protest social injustices throughout the country.
