Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced Thursday that second-year wideout Zay Jones will miss the rest of offseason practices after undergoing knee surgery, according to Vic Carucci of buffalonews.com.

McDermott added that he doesn't consider Jones' season to be in doubt "at this point."

The injury is the latest setback for Jones this offseason following a subpar rookie year, during which he caught only 27 passes for 316 yards and two touchdowns.

The 23-year-old was also arrested in March for an incident - which was caught on video - in which he grapple-fought with his brother while naked and covered in blood after supposedly kicking his foot through a window on the public balcony of a Los Angeles apartment building. Jones was initially charged with felony vandalism, but that charge was later dropped.

The loss of Jones would be a significant blow for Buffalo. Kelvin Benjamin is the only receiver on the roster with a 1,000-yard season on his resume, and the Bills were counting on their 2017 second-round pick to make a sophomore leap.

Jeremy Kerley would likely be moved to the No. 2 receiver spot if Jones is forced to miss any regular-season time.
