Belichick mum on Brady's absence from OTAs

Predictably, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick offered little insight Tuesday when asked about the absence of quarterback Tom Brady from the start of voluntary organized team activities.

"I'm not going to talk about the people that aren't here," he told reporters, courtesy of Sports Illustrated. "The guys who are here are improving, working hard. Those are the guys we're going to focus on."

It's been a tense offseason for Brady and the Patriots - at least, it's appeared that way from the outside looking in - as the two sides have reportedly been at odds since last year.

Brady has skipped all voluntary team workouts this offseason. He is expected to show up for mandatory minicamp in June.

Belichick was equally coy when pressed on the absence of another star, tight end Rob Gronkowski, who's believed to be seeking a revised contract.

"I'm focused on the guys that are here and those are the guys we're working with in the OTA process Phase 3," he said, via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.
