Houston Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt has told Santa Fe High School that he intends to pay the funeral expenses for the victims of Friday's shooting, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

Dimitrios Pagourtzis, 17, used a shotgun and a revolver to kill 10 people and wound 10 others at the Texas high school.

Watt has been a highly active member of the community since arriving in Houston in 2011. He won last season's Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award after raising more than $37 million for the Hurricane Harvey relief fund.
