When New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was spotted courtside with rappers Meek Mill and Gucci Mane during Game 2 of the Boston Celtics-Philadelphia 76ers playoff series, many wondered what the trio could have been talking about.

Mill provided the answer Wednesday during an interview with Sports Illustrated's Crossover TV, explaining that Kraft already knew Gucci because he performed at one of the Patriots' Super Bowl parties.

"I was telling Gucci, 'Robert a real dude, man,'" Mill said. "He came to visit me in jail. He spoke out for me. He has a lot of influence ... He's the real deal."

Kraft visited Mill at a Pennsylvania state prison in April while the rapper was serving a sentence for probation violation, describing him afterward as an "amazing young man." Mill was released from prison on April 24.
