The Pittsburgh Steelers sent wide receiver Martavis Bryant to the Oakland Raiders for the No. 79 overall pick (third round) in the 2018 NFL Draft, the team announced Thursday. The Steelers originally said the trade was for the No. 75 pick.
The troubled receiver attempted to force his way out of Pittsburgh during the 2017 season after his role diminished following a return from a yearlong suspension for multiple violations of the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
However, the Steelers appeared reticent to give up on the pass-catcher after sticking beside him during his off-field issues.
Bryant will give Jon Gruden's offense a much-needed deep threat and form a formidable trio with Amari Cooper and free-agent signing Jordy Nelson.
