The Philadelphia Eagles announced they have parted ways with cornerback Daryl Worley.

Worley's release comes after he was arrested near the Eagles' facility Sunday morning and became combative with a Philadelphia police officer. A gun was recovered at the scene of the incident.

Philadelphia acquired the 23-year-old Philadelphia native from the Carolina Panthers in exchange for wide receiver Torrey Smith in March.

Worley was the Panthers' third-round selection in the 2016 draft. He accumulated 111 tackles and three interceptions in his first two NFL seasons.

The Eagles still have plenty of depth at the cornerback position heading into 2018, with Jalen Mills, Ronald Darby, Sidney Jones, and Rasul Douglas currently atop the depth chart.
