Projected first-round defensive tackle Maurice Hurst, of Michigan, has been cleared by cardiologists to resume playing football after a heart condition was discovered during the NFL combine, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Hurst will do a full workout at Michigan's pro day on Friday, added Schefter.

A fifth-year senior, Hurst racked up 58 total tackles and 5.5 sacks during a consensus All-American campaign.

Now cleared of his medical red flag, Hurst is in contention to be the second defensive linemen off the board after pass-rusher Bradley Chubb.
