The Los Angeles Rams have selected running back John Kelly out of Tennessee with the 176th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Kelly is an excellent option in both the running and passing attack, combining for 1,077 scrimmage yards on 226 touches in his final collegiate season.

While Todd Gurley rarely leaves the field for the Rams, a player of Kelly's ability represents excellent value for Sean McVay's offense going forward.

What the analysts are saying

  • "Kelly is a little undersized but is a tough runner and capable pass-catcher who has the potential to play all three downs if needed." - Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
  • "Kelly does not possess the eye-popping size and speed to earn a top pick, but don't be surprised if he proves a more productive runner in the NFL than some of the freaky athletes selected ahead of him." - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
