Lions sign LeGarrette Blount to reported 1-year, $4.5M deal
The Detroit Lions have signed running back LeGarrette Blount, the team confirmed.
Terms were not disclosed but Blount signed a one-year, $4.5-million contract, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Blount won two consecutive Super Bowl titles over the last two seasons - first with the New England Patriots in 2016, and then with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017 against his former club. The running back also won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2014.
In his lone season with the Eagles, Blount rushed for 766 yards and two touchdowns on 173 carries.
He led the NFL in rushing touchdowns during the 2016 campaign.
It appears the Lions finally have their man after a dramatic ordeal with running back Frank Gore, who left the club without a contract this week despite reportedly being close to a deal.
