Michigan defensive tackle Maurice Hurst's dream of playing in the NFL may have hit a significant roadblock Saturday, as the projected first-round pick was reportedly diagnosed with a heart condition during medical evaluations at the NFL combine, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, citing league sources.
Hurst will undergo further testing this week to determine the extent and details of the condition, according to Schefter.
A fifth-year senior at Michigan last season, Hurst put together an impressive season that saw him record 58 total tackles and 5.5 sacks as well as take home Consensus All-American honors from the Associated Press.
Hurst was also awarded the Bo Schembechler Team MVP Award at Michigan for the 2017 season.
