The Oakland Raiders informed longtime Pro Bowl kicker Sebastian Janikowski that they don't plan on re-signing him for the 2018 season, ending his 18-year run with the franchise, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It's unclear of Janikowski intends to continue his career elsewhere.

Janikowski spent the entirety of his contract year on injured reserve with a back issue. Rookie Giorgio Tavecchio took over as the Raiders' starting kicker and had a solid season, converting 16 of 21 field-goal attempts.

Oakland drafted Janikowski 17th overall in the 2000 NFL Draft, making him just the fourth kicker taken in the first round in NFL history.

The 39-year-old is famous for his elite leg strength and holds an NFL record for most field goals of 50 yards or more with 55.
